It's easy to become a local and be welcomed as such when you choose to holiday in the same town in Vendsyssel year after year. It also makes it difficult to do without your second home in North Jutland.
But a lot has happened in recent years, and visitors have started to explore Vendsyssel to a greater extent. People still live in the town where they usually holiday, but many enjoy exploring across Vendsyssel.

While there are the obvious seaside resorts with perfect sandy beaches, ice cream parlours and classic holiday experiences, many visitors appreciate discovering the small villages and being captivated by their history. Or explore the many museums, exhibitions, galleries and speciality shops across Vendsyssel. From large attractions such as the Oceanarium in Hirtshals to spectacular museums and small, unique local experiences such as the fish auction in Strandby.
There are hidden gems along the river in Sæby, local adventures and tales like the one about the wolf in Ulsted.
