Uggerby Å is renowned for its excellent fishing waters, home to trout and salmon, among other species. In connection with the preservation of the old power station, it became necessary to construct a fish ladder at the dam to ensure the unimpeded migration of fish. The ladder, built of field stones in 1976, is highlighted by experts as one of the best in the region.
During the fish migration season, you can witness salmon and trout leaping from pool to pool – a fascinating sight that offers a unique nature experience. The fish ladder was built to strengthen the salmon and trout population in Uggerby Å and is also a beautiful place to enjoy nature.
The area is ideal for relaxation and contemplation, where one can enjoy the sound of the rushing water. At the car park by the stairs, there is a picnic area with tables and benches, where visitors can take a break and enjoy their surroundings.
